Lots of Lines

During this lesson, students learned about different types of lines and chose from several media stations to create masterpieces using lines of their choice.

Shape and Texture Book

In this Kindergarten unit on shape and texture, students explored the textures in their everyday environment. First, they made rubbings of wire shapes and used watercolor to make resist paintings. Then, we went outside to make rubbings of textures that we found outside the school. Next, students practiced cutting out shapes from their rubbing worksheets, and glued them on to their watercolor resist paintings. Finally, students chose different materials with various textures to add to their books. To complete their books, students made and decorated book covers, and teachers folded and stapled the books together.
